Most DF-series coffee grinders feature a declumper that sits directly beneath the burr chamber, positioned at the exit of the grinding chute. As ground coffee passes through this area, the declumper’s flexible fins or mesh disperse clumps and neutralise static charge, allowing the coffee to fall evenly into the catch cup or portafilter below.

This small component plays an outsized role in workflow and consistency. By breaking up compacted grinds before they exit the chute, it produces a fluffier, more uniform coffee bed, improving distribution and reducing channeling during extraction.
